Are they the same camera?

I am looking at a 35 mm camera on E-bay. Its a Sears KS1000 is it the same as a Pentax K 1000? If not does it use the same size lens?

Most Sears SLR cameras were made by Ricoh. The Sears KS1000 is the same as the Ricoh XR-1s.

It is very similar in function to the Pentax K1000, and yes, it uses the same Pentax K-mount lenses as the K1000.

Very similar, but not the same. The Sears camera was made by Ricoh rather than Pentax, but does use Pentax K-mount lenses. An instruction manual is at http://www.butkus.org/chinon/sears_ks-1000/sears_ks-1000-splash.htm
