Attaching flash to camera flip bracket

I am having problems attaching the
SB-29 cord to the camera flip bracket. I have a D70 camera with the SB-800 flash and the SB-29 cord. The flash slides into the top of the bracket. If I attach the SB-29 cord, the flash slides into the cord but now they won't attach to the bracket. If anyone else has this equipment, please let me know how you solved this problem. thanks.

It is possible that the foot on the cord is a little thicker than the foot on the flash so you might need to open the receptacle on the bracket a little more.

The shoe-mount on the bracket should be removeable. I believe you directly screw the speedlight-mounting-end of the SC-29 to the bracket in place of the shoe-mount.
