Very strange, nathalie...Sorry no answer for you, just really curious to what other people might think !!

Tell me about it! It only happened to about 6 shots, but all of the same pose, so no perfect shots of them with their son. Although, the one in my gallery is a lot better, what do you think?

Natalie, Was there anyone around you smoking? Just a thought. Jeff

Have you ever considered that the bride really is a ghost?

Jeff - nope no one was smoking, to her left was the river, I just think it is really strange that only THE BRIDE is ghosted, like she was put into the photo afterwards from a badly exposed shot.....

I don't know to think either. But your photos in your gallery are wonderful. Both weddings look beautiful!

Hey Natalie, your fellow Bon Jovi fan here. I don't know what caused it, but I'm pretty sure I can fix it. If you want to email it to me I'll see what I can do. Lately I've had a lot of people asking me how to do work in Photoshop and with the cds coming out soon I really don't have time to type out pages of instructions. I try when I can, but I'm pushing deadline on the template cds. However, I would be happy to work on it for you. It should only take a day. Wedding shots are important and I know how stressful they can be. Take care,

Oh Liza, you are a darling! Although, check out my gallery, I have fixed it, but only in B&W. I found his skin being really red and her's being pale was really hard, even with other shots I have done. What do you think of the one I have fixed? I don't think they will notice. So, have you bought the new Jovi CD? Going to the concerts?

Great Job Natalie. Turning to B & W can definitely turn them into keepers. Haven't bought any new cds in a long time. As far as I know they aren't even coming to my area. I watched some big tribute on an award show for them though and thought of all of us with our old hair dos and had a good laugh. Sharing those pics was a lot of fun.

That is really really weird! I have never seen anything like that. Maybe you could of had a fingerprint on the lens and the sun was hitting it just right??? I don't know?? Kinda spooky though!!

Sam its called Photoshop and Layers! LOL. That is why I can't see the point of shooting in raw, when you get a stuff up like this and I am still able to fix it in tiff or jpeg!

Natalie, Those shots are gorgeous!! I don't know what caused the problem but I don't think they would ever notice in your BW version. And the other shots are beautiful. Great job

Hey there! Something similar just happened to me the other day on a shoot. It was due to flair from the sun. Once I shaded my lens all was well again. Maybe that's what happened to you??

Natalie, I would bet it was a partially fogged lens. Humidity is a major fact of life down here in the South, so I have many examples like this. Chris

Hi all, thanks for the responses. I bet it was fogged too, cause it definitely wasn't sun glare, as we had 100% cloud cover that day. I much appreciate all your help. I am just glad I was able to fix the photo.

Natalie & Liza - not to change the subject, but did you know that Bon Jovi & Sugarland were on Crossroads on CMT last night? Awesome concert!!! Country meets rock & roll!!! Also, very strange photo. Hard to believe the fog would isolate over the bride only. Glad the other shots came out ok.

Hi Natalie, When the shot was taken, did you have your eye to the viewfinder? If not, did you remember to cover the eyepiece if using remote trigger? Sometimes stray light entering vieewfinder will cause hotspots within your shot. Just a thought.

Natalie, This certainly isn't fog. For one, fog isolates itself to a center-point and then fades inwards. Your problem is isolated on the side of the frame and does not affect the focus on the frame, which tells me that it isn't a condensation fog, and the eyes would not loose their color simply because there is a blotch of fog on the lens. Try it yourself, breath on a window, look through it; what do you see? Of course, A) the focus of your eye is off, and B) the colors are, if anything, enhanced, not diminished. Your lens would not have been able to focus on the bride with the fog on the lens, it would simply be blurry and look "wet". Plus, I assume you look through the viewfinder (at least I hope), you would have definitely seen if you had any fog on the lens. What you have here is a case of excess UV rays hitting the sensor at a certain spot. Note that it could have been completely overcase, it makes no difference. My guess would be that light entered through the viewfinder, and hit the sensor after reflecting off of the glass on the lens. Make sure that the viewfinder is completely covered when you take the picture, it is apparent that you were shooting down when you took this picture, which only increases this light. Now if it wasn't the light, then I would say that you have a small piece of dirt on the back-most piece of glass on your lens and this appears to be very large when it is not focused on. But I highly doubt it was fog. Hope this helps!

I've had this happen when bringing a camera from an A/C interior to a hot, humid yard. It takes a few minutes for the lens to warm up and until that time you can get some slight condensation. It's not always even because the outside sun can warm up portions of the lens removing the fogging unevenly. The solution is to look at your camera from the front when doing this, and don't take pictures for a few minutes after going outside into heat and humidity from an air-conditioned building.
