Hi Brian I Dont think they are red eyes what it I m thinking its your flash reflection on water and might be the tip of it was wet and created that . You can clone that out with ps hope this will help . Kelly

I never use the flash as it startles the animals and I like to take pictures in the day time. I did have my AF-assist beam on mistakenly though but have since turned it off. Now it's just a matter of getting it removed.

It's not "red-eye". The hot spots appear to me to be reflections/glare off the water from the sun in this very strongly back- or side-lit scene. Fill-flash or a reflector would have helped even the lighting so that the front of the duck isn't underexposed. A polarizer would have helped take the specular highlights off the water.
