Photography Question

CAUTION!!!!

After reading a thread on q&a last week, I saw that you could get the Adobe software, CS 2, for $150.00.
I ordered the software from "BUYSUSA", in Lakeland, Florida.
I received my cd today, that was covered in plastic with a yellow strip across the top of the cd.
I downloaded the software, like the instructions said and then I had to call a phone number to have program installed.
GUESS WHAT!!!! I finally got Adobe, customer service, and they told me "If it's too good to be true, it is"!!!!!!
The serial number I had was already on multiple computers and used by multiple customers!!! Boy, was I surprised......Customer service at Adobe said that you NEVER has to call a phone number to install their software.
Adobe's suggestion was to call BUYSUSA and ask for a refund!!! It's a SCAM...so beware!!!

I've known several people that have purchased through this company and claim to have no problems, but I was leery of it and wouldn't buy from them. I have PS CS so it wasn't all that tempting for me. I guess Adobe refused to activate it for you?

The thing about that kind of scam is sooner or later Adobe will be going after the purchasers like the music industry did against Napster and the people downloading from that site. It wouldn't be worth the risk to me.

Actually, Adobe did activate it for me.
But, if I ever uninstall it or for whatever reason I take it off my computer, I will never get it back.
In the meantime, Im going to call Buysusa and demand my $150 back.
And they can have their cd back!!!!!
The customer service rep from Adobe did say that if Better Photo endorses buysusa, in any way shape or form, that if there is a lawsuit, Better Photo will be involved.
So, I hope this thread reaches a lot of people so it can save them the grief I have to go thru now.

I bought from BuysUSA and had NO problems at all. I followed the instructions to the T and called them for the authorization number. I typed in what they gave me and I have the full version for $99. Just call them and give them the serial number and they will give you the authorization number. It's that easy. And you really have no foundation for a full refund. The site says directly on it in big blue letters next to the PS CS2 picture...

"NOTE: To prevent unauthorized distribution this product requires Telephone activation within 30 days of installation. You MUST activate the software while at your computer as the activation request number will change. We will provide you with the telephone number to activate the software. Please have your invoce number handy before calling. This activation technology has been developed by Adobe to prevent piracy."

Good luck in getting your money back as it probably won't happen.

P.S. I don't see why you called Adobe when the instructions specifially said to call the company. If you had done this you would have had no problems.

  Hi Justin
I did excatly what the instructions said to do.....when I enterd the serial # and the activation # it refused to let me download....I tried several times calling and entering their activation # and entered again and again and then Adobe came on the phone and asked me for the serial number that Iwas trying to use. I did not call Adobe!!!!!!
They told me that that serial number had been used numerous times and are noted in other computers. When adobe asked me where I got the CD, that is when they told me that these CD's are not legal.
I have notified buysusa and they will refund my money whenI send back the cd and I also notified my credit card company and they will file a regulation E claim.
So Justin, see, I did follow all the instructions, but I guess Adobe is catching on......
