Photography Question

Riley R. Asburry

centering, cropping

How is the centering on this image? I wanted to capture the whole castle but looking at it from a little ways back it all most looks unbalanced some how.

It is not centered and it is unbalanced - a very good thing! If you intended to center the castle in the frame, you failed, and, by doing so, created a very good photo. If you study the Rule of Thirds a little, you will learn that the subject should not always be centered in the frame. In fact, it usually should not be. It is really a nice photo, much better than if it had been centered.

Riley I agree completely with Kerry. I looked a the photo and couldn't change the image in my mind to make it better then it is. Sometime's one looks at a photo to long and will see problems that at not there.

Have a great day.

Kerry's correct. However, I'd lose some of the green at the bottom of the picture.

Personally, I like the extra green in this one. It gives it a sense of perspective. As you can see, Riley, there are different opinions of how a photo should look. It's just different strokes for different folks. Either way, you have a really nice photo.
