Photography Question

I have a color saturation problem

I recently acquired a Fuji Finepix 7000. I have only used it a few times and it seems to be having difficulty with really rich colors like purple and reds. The come out as overly saturated on the camera's preview screen and also when I download them to my computer. I tried changing the white balance to no avail. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Digital cameras notoriously have problems with red. There might be a way to set your camera so that it doesn't saturate any of the colors as much, but that would have it's problems too. You may just have to find a way to fix them once you get them on the computer.

Both attached examples are overexposed, and so may be exacerbating the problem. Check to make sure you haven't inadvertently set + exposure compensation, or too slow a shutter speed (the minimum lens aperture is only f/8).
