Photography Question

James W. Eber

Hpw do you capture a good shot of the moon?

Last night I took a couple of shots of the moon. I used Fuji S3100 and a tripod. How can I change the quality of the shots?

What I understand is that the moon is like any other object in sunlight and it should be shot as such. If you are talking about the first 2 pics in your gallery, I think they are probably overexposed? Which makes the moon look like a fuzzy ball instead of seeing the craters, etc., or atleast the dark/light areas where the moon features should be.

I'm basically a beginner at all this. I don't think you can bring back much, if anything, from a shot where the highlights are "blown out". Underexposed, there is always something hiding in the dark....but, there's not much you can do with bright...I think.
