How to shoot clothing? Hi all, please take a look at this product photo and let me know how I can achieve the floating look (with a virtually white background). http://photobucket.com/albums/a147/bemyhos...=satin_tie1.jpg This mannequin is shot indoor right BESIDE a window on a sunny afternoon. (So if I were to move mannequin to its right, it'd be blocking the window.) I used a SONY MVC-FD87. I adjusted the EV to +1 since the backdrop I used is plain white painted wall. The result seemed OK, but I want to improve it and wonder how I can achieve the floating look without using any professional lights (or do I need to purchase those professional photographic lights? I have no experience with those and I do'nt want to spend lots of money on equipment, but if a little investment can greatly improve the product presentation..yeah) Mine still looks a bit gray even though it's signicantly improved from when the EV was set to zero. My big question is how can I further improve this photo? Is it the white balance, or the light, or something else? My camera does not have many options for white balance so I can't really experiment. Appreciate any help I can get!

is that your phot or the one youre trying to copy? if im correct its yours and you want to get rid of the background and make the object (im not even gonna try to spell mannican...see?) float over (or in front of) the white background. well id start by using Photoshop and getting rid of the original back ground, add a sloid white background and use a drop shadow on the (that thing I cant spell right) to make it appear to float. hope thats right.
