screenshot program

I was wondering if someone could recommend a screen shot program. (that is really cheap) I am trying to get a tearsheet for my portfolio but I can not seem to get the picture with all the contents off the internet screen.

Thanks for any help
Melissa

The best screenshot program is your keyboard! If you're running PC and not mac then press Ctrl + Print Screen. Go into your image editing program and click Edit, then Paste and it should come up. Crop what you don't need.

I wish that it was that easy, it just will not work that way. It will not print off.

Any other suggestions???

Ok here's what I got so far...
First one is called Screenshot Pilot 1.4 and it's free at this link:

http://www.download.com/Screenshot-Pilot/3000-2094_4-10343204.html?tag=lst-0-7

The next is called GetScreen 1.0.12 and it's also free at this link:

http://www.download.com/GetScreen/3000-2094_4-10183111.html?tag=lst-0-6

I haven't used these but found them on a quick search on www.download.com Try them out and see how they work. I've never used them but they seem like they should work fine. Good luck, sorry about the confusion.

Melissa, did you find what you are looking for?
Just recently I used a trial version of Quick Screen Capture. If you just need one for one time or two to create your portfolio, try out a trial version, and you may be done with it... If you need to one for long term, still go ahead and try out one or two different ones and purchase the one you liked.

The Quick Screen Capture is at;
http://www.etrusoft.com/download.htm

This web page has other software that is more comprehensive. Prices from $25 and up...

  Nobi,
Thanks so so much!! This is great. I just loaded the screen! Now, do you know how to 'not' get the full screen and just the page? Because I have msn and I screen shot it and it captured all the buttons and stuff on the side....

Thanks so much!!
Melissa

If you are trying out the same one I did, you will see the "Capture" menu on the top.
- Use the pull-down menu, and click on the "Rectangle".
- Then you can define the rectangle part you wish to capture, and click. You will hear the shutter-click (lol...).
- More fun part of this is you can capture even ellipse, circle, and polygon shapes...

I don't know about on your screen but, my screen the whole page does not show at one time on the screen is there a way you can capture what is not 'shown' on the screen?
Those shapes could come in really handy! Cool!

Thanks so so much!! Nobi your the best!
Melissa

  - After shutter-click, it comes up with "save file" menu.
- If you wish to edit the image, cancel it and you will be able to perform normal image eiditing.
- ...when done, save.

So when you use the rectangle then you capture that and then scroll the screen down and capture that and then paste them together?

Perfect! I think I got it!!
Thanks this is awesome!!

  Melissa,
Do you see the "full Screen" option on the pull-down menu. Use that one to capture the full-screen. With this option, you do not have to define the area, it will caputre the full sceen by itself.

When you get the full screen it is just the screen and not the 'full page' the stuff that is not seen--right.??.. Also, when you did it I see the msn buttons on the side is there, do you know, a way to just get the web page, the full web page?
Thanks
Melissa

You are right, Melissa... Screen capture as its name, it only captures the current screen.
So, your comment above (5th one up) is the right thing to do when you wish to capture the whole web page by series of screen shots.
