How to change a portrait photo into a landscape I'm going to be displaying some of my digital photos on a plasma flat screen tv, in the lobby of an office building. They want the photos to be landscape..(horizontal. Some of my best photos are portrait (vertical). They asked me to change all of them to landscape, in my software program, before I save them as high resolution jpegs. Is this possible ?? If so, can you please tell me how to do this ?? thank you.

Yes and no. Yes, it is possible. No, it is not feasible. You will need to do a severe cropping job (losing about 40% of your image at the least), and ending up with an image that is nothing like your original. To see what I mean, take a vertical shot that you have, and cut 20% off the top and 20% off the bottom. Now you will have a mild horizontal image. You will need to use the crop tool to do this. And, to add insult to injury to your image, you will be throwing away at least 40% of your file, meaning that the final horizontal will have to be enlarged that much more, yielding a much less quality image. Personally, I feel going from a vertical to a horizontal crop is too radical, not to mention ending up with an entirely different image. I wouldn't do it.
