Photography Question

Geoffrey S. Faller

Sending images to a Magazine?

Hi Folks...I need some help! I recently did a shoot for a NY Magazine (First time). I used my 20D. They wanted me to send them 15 Images which I did through yahoo e-mail. They wrote back saying the images were too small but when I opened them in Photoshop. they were 3504x2336 and the res of 72. Did yahoo resize them when I sent them? Is 3504x2336 to small? How can I get the images to them at this size?
HELP!!! What should I do now? Thank you all in advance!
Geoff

I think they need them at 300dpi.

Did you shoot them in RAW or JPG? If you shot them in RAW format, then you can open them in photoshop and adjust the dpi.

However, if you shot in JPG, then you might be out of luck.

If you shot in JPG at a higher resolution and then changed it to 72 dpi to transmit, you may be OK, as long as you kept the original file at a higher resolution.

Kerry, I think the 20D and the DR save the JPG as 72dpi automatically... could be wrong.. I shoot just RAW.

Well, guess I wasn't much help then. I shoot strictly in RAW too (film LOL).
