How to take close-ups with Megapix V10

Hello

This is my first visit.

I've recently bought a Megapix V10 digital camera, and am absolutely delighted with it. The only area where I'm having a problem is with close-ups. They are always blurred. I'm manually selecting the close-up setting, and in "scene" selecting 'flower'. According to the manual the macro distance is 19-22 cm. and I'm within that distance, but all the pictures are blurred in the centre and clear around the edges.

I am just a simple "snapper" and an absolute amateur - I expect you'll already know that! So any guidance will be very gratefully received.

When you say that you are "within" the macro distance, are you getting closer than 19cm?

I looked at the specs for your camera. When it says that the macro focusing distance is 19-22cm, I'm pretty sure they mean that in macro mode, you will only get sharp focus on objects that are between 19 and 22cm from the lens. That only gives you a 3cm margin of error.

You need to try to get the center of the flower within that 19-22cm range so it will be sharply focused, then the rest of the scene around it will be blurred.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I've now got a measured piece of string so that I can get the distance right, and yes, the photos are in focus.

Very grateful, and so glad to have found this site.

Best wishes.
