ordering proofs for clients

I just did a photo shoot, the first in a long time, and I ordered a proof portfolio from mpix so he can veiw his proofs in a nice presentation and order from them. Anyhow I need some sort of order form because I use to just give them one document stating prices and sizes and let them write it on the back of the proof and retun them to me. I cant do that with this proof porfollio so now I am searching for an ordering form that is simple to use. I need this soon so please respond!

  Hi Bobbi,

I give my clients printed 4x5 proofs in a gold proof box (unless it's a wedding and then they get a leather proof album), but anyway, I had never thought of having them write on the back of the picture...hmmmmm

Anyway, I have a simple form that I typed up that seems to be working well.

It has my studio name and all that jazz at the top and then there I have listed

Proof #_________

4x6_________

5x7_________

8x10________

11x14_________

(8) wallets________

Proof only_________

then they write the proof # that they want and indicate the sizes and it's been really simple for both them and me to follow.

I have this repeated as many times as it will fit on the page. (I think it's 5 in a column, 2 columns on a page, so 10 total)

I usually give them 2 in their proof pack.

Hi Bobbi .. . Did you like your proof portfolio???

I created my own order form in MS Word and give this to them when I give them their proofs(on CD). On one side is the actual order form with a place for file #, and then columns across indicating what sizes and then a column for special instructions. .. on the backside of this is a place for their "wishlist" or to write down prints they want in their folio or as proofs. This side has my packages and individual prices so they can have it all in hand.

  Mellanie,

I had a hard time finding someone to sell them individually as I don't need a case of 100.

www.perfectiondistributing.com

You can request a wholesale calalog and then they end up being under $2 each.

I didn't buy the strechy bands because they were so high and again, I don't need 10 million, but the guy threw in some for free. although no one ever seems to manage to bring the stretchy bow back, but okay.

I was really happy with them. High Quality, Quick enough shipping.

I think Albums Inc.'s boxes are the same price, under $2 each, which I think is really reasonable.

You do have a minimum order though. I couldn't see having to store them so I went with the other place.

Albums Inc. has faster shipping though. I think I had to wait about 10 days for the perfectiondistributing order and I have ordered from albums inc. on a tuesday afternoon and been holding my stuff friday morning.

Anything beats what I was using before though. I bought like 20 of these cute little photo albums (2 up on a page) from walmart for $1.74 each. I was so proud of myself.

I had about 15 of them out at the same time and then when they started being returned I was horrified. Pages had fallen out, or if someone had left them in their car, the album had melted in places. I can't even imagine that if that happened in the first couple days what people said when they showed them their proofs.

"She charges how much for an 8x10 and she can't afford new proof albums?"

Learned a hard lesson there, cheaper is not better.
