digital photography project im taking a digital photography class at my school, and for our first assignment we have to take 14 pictures of 'the elements of composition' i was wondering if anyone could help me by giving me examples of the following: Balance-elements in the photograph have the same visual weight Leading lines- lines in the photograph create a road map for the eye center of interest- the object in the photo that attracts the most attention repetition- shapes or ideas are repeated within the photo rule of thirds- subject is not placed in the middle, but along the third's movement- photo seems to have life, elements such as lines create the sensation of movement backround- should be non-distracting to focus attention on the subject perspective- the direction from which the photo is shot. different angles have different effects filling the frame- leave no unnecessary space, tight cropping selective focus- using depth of field to highlight center of interest framing subject- shooting the subject surrounded by a frame within the photo cropping-cutting out unnecessary items in the photo, focusing on one element shape- the objects shape is used to tell something about the object. shape can tell something about mass, proportion and relation texture-photo tells how the object feels

You are in a photo class. No one expects you to create great photos from the beginning, although that is always the desire. Just do your best and learn from what you have done. Then, later you can look back and see how you have improved.
