Photography Question

Marni M. Conway

Please critique my work

I'm interested in trying to sell some of my photographs. The photos on my gallery are some from about a year ago. I haven't had a chance to upload any current ones, but I would really like some input on what is already on my gallery. Thank you!

Overall I think that you are a great photographer. I commented on some of your photos individually.

  Marni,
For the most part, your photos are excellent. However, the few problems really distract from the potential of the photo to really stand out. I see your main problem is geting the horizon level.

--Tulips: the portion of sky at the upper right is very distracting. It shows your camea was not level to the horizon. I suggest cropping the top.
--Barn, White Church, Field of Dafodils, Hana, Maui, others: As mentioned above, getting the horizon level is so important.
--I would develop a much less noticible signature stamp (brush).
John

Marni - beautiful photos. Do you live in Maui? My wife and I vacationed there several years ago and your photos made me "homesick" (I wish it were my home)!

I left some comments as well. Ditto John's re the horizon.

So far as simply posting photos for critique, I don't think the bold copywrite signature is a problem, and may help inhibit theft. But you certainly wouldn't print or sell the images that way.

Thank you all for your input. The signatures on the pictures was on by mistake. The pictures no longer have that on them. I will work on the horizon. Jon, I used to live on Maui as a child. Now, I just go for a visit. Again thank you all!
