Photo Feedback - Partial Metering

I would like feedback on this photograph which I took using partial metering since there was sufficient light on the subject and little dark area on the tree. Ideally I should have used evaluative metering on my Canon EOS 50E but I just thought of doing it differently and locked the focus at the center of the tree. The building and the photograph looks great to me but I would like to get your views as whether evaluative meter would have given a better one.

Overall the exposure looks good. There is good shadow detail and the sky is a nice tone. On my screen the white church looks slightly blown out. You don't say what kind of film you are using. If this is print film the printer could print it down. It may just be the scan though.

As to metering, if I am taking reflective readings (I use a handheld meter that takes incendent and reflective) I always spot meter. In this instance if I had been metering the scene I would have metered the church (I assume it is pure white) and opened up 2 stops. In reality I probably would have taken an incident reading and shot from there but that's me.
