Melvin, I am not sure about lessons on this sight but I have adobe photoshop elements 3.0 and it is very easy to put color on black and white photos with it.

Hope this helps,
Tina

Melvin, I too have Photoshop Elements 3.0. I don't know about easy, but once you get it figured out it is easy. Adobe is not very user friendly, but once you get it, you got it.

So true Anita, It took me awhile to realize I could even do that with PSE3.0 Here is a link that explains and once you know how to do it then it is simple.

Melvin I have Photoshop 7.0, but I am almost sure you can do this with PSE as well - here's a fun link to try:
http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial/Turn-A-Photo-Into-A-Sketch-Using-Photoshop/6911

I used this to do my entry today (Nearly gone bananas!..) and used a very large history brush set on 58% opacity to brush back in some colour.

Otherwise, simply desaturating a picture and then using the history brush to bring back the colour on selected areas works well too.

Hi All,

This is OK if the original is color, I use Blackmagic to color black and white photos.
http://www.black-and-white-to-color.com/mainsite/
This is how I do it if the original is color and I want to have just some color:
Open the original picture (you should save a copy so if anything goes wrong you still have the real original)
Then convert to black and white using your prefered method.
Select All, Copy
Then close it - DO NOT SAVE IT!!
Re Open it and paste the clipboard as a new layer.
You now have a black and White layer on top of the color photo
Using the eraser you can erase the areas or area that you want to be colored and the color from the original will show through.
I did this one earlier

I hope this makes sense.

Regards,
Del

OK I have put the exmple in my gallery, not the best photo or colorizing, just chose it quickly and made sure that what I was saying worked!
