Photography Question

Looking for an EOS 1. Is this a good decision?

Hi everybody. I'm looking for a new film camera to go with my new lenses I've been getting.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel GII and it's worked great with me. Lately I've been getting some heavier lenses like Canon's 200mm f/2.8L and Sigma's 24-70 f/2.8. These don't feel too comfortable on my little plastic camera, especially thinking about the strong metal mount (?) on the lenses putting additional weight on the plastic mount on the Rebel GII. I'm also looking for some faster shutter speeds so I can still shoot wide open with the 2.8 lenses.

I'm looking at the EOS 1 which is a little older, or the A2(E). I have found some stuff on the A2 and have been shown some stuff but I'm not really finding much on the EOS 1. I have heard that is had a very loud film rewind but since it was the top professional film camera, that it must be pretty good. What kind of TTL does the EOS 1 have? I think the A2 just has TTL, right? I'm not sure about some of the Elan cameras just because I want something that's closer to my 20D but with 35mm film. Also, what's a pretty good price for the EOS 1? I've seen only a few on eBay and some for above $300 in B&H's used dept. Are these worth it or should I look for something else? I'll be using it for college photography and replacing my Rebel GII.

Thanks!
