FM2 Camera

What's up with the FM2? Doesn't anybody use this camera anymore or what?

Yet another "Manual Focus, Manual Exposure, Brass, Glass and Steel" user comes out of the closet!

Hi! My name is John. I'm addicted to this type of hardware too, and don't want to give up my addiction either.

The FM-2[n] is a very fine classic, and the system of Nikkor AIS lenses for it (and other bodies such as the F-2 and F-3) have an excellent reputation. Yes, there are still quite a few users of them around; a tribute to its robustness. Nikon still makes the Nikkor AIS lenses, along with the FM-2n, F-3 and a new variant of the F-3. There is also a very large Nikon User Group on line (actually there are two: one for the newer AF stuff and one for the classic manual stuff). No, I don't use Nikon, but all my gear is manual focus from that era (and earlier), and the majority of it is manual exposure.

Bottom line . . .
It's not what you have but how you use it that counts. In the photo shows I've participated in, someone may ask technical questions about how an image was made, but very rarely will they ask what make/model of camera or lens was used. Don't worry about how many others are using the same system you are unless you're having problems specific to your hardware and need to find another user. If you've got some questions like that, just ask and someone will likely reply.

Show us your pics and let's talk about them some.
