Camera trouble?

I'm using an Olympus E-10 digital, with smart media cards.

Recently, 4 of my 6 cards have died.

The message I get when trying to retrieve images on the computer is "the file is corrupt and unreadable".

Seems odd that 4 cards would die within a couple weeks of each other?

My question is; are the cards known for going bad, or might the trouble lie in my camera?

Today, I used a recovery program, and one of the recovered pictures has a missing section at the bottom (see below)

Any ideas?
