Where are the pics going to be taken (inside or outside)? What kind of camera are you using? Are you using digital or film? If at all possible, go to the site & check out the lighting at th time of day the wedding is. This will help you gauge lighting. Also, maybe snap some practice shots while you are there. Prepare for the worse scanrios also... (Rain, wind, bright sun) & also have a backup camera in case the one you use malfunctions. Just like Debby stated, if you can find someone to at least help you carry equipment it will be beneficial. ALSO.... get a list of shots the bride & groom want done & check them off as you take them. Weddings can be very stressful & having a few things written down will help you not forget an important shot. Make sure the couple know you are not a professional photographer, if you are not one & you will try to do the best job you can with whatever skills you have. ALSO.. are you going to allow people to take snapshots while you are taking pictures? There will be the family huddled around you over your shoulder taking pics while you are trying to take pics also. This is a personal decision you will have to make as it is hard to compose shots & the couple will have no idea where to look for the picture if many people are wansdering around saying "smile!".. these are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head! Best of luck!
