CF card readers

I have recently purchased a Quantaray CF card reader for my Canon digital cameras. The softward says that it's compatible with an OS 10.1 operating system on my emac. I've got 10.3. Would it still work?
How reliable is this card reader compared to brands like Sandisk?

I shoot RAW files and they're very large. I want the optimum transfer from my camera to my computer.

I guess I need to know if I need a more updated card reader so that my OS 10.3 can detect the software when I install it. Also, how reputable is Quantaray compared to other brands?

Thanks for your reply though...

I guess you have came up with your own decisions. When it comes to card readers, there's barely a difference in brand as long as it's USB compatible. As most computer things go, if you have something that's compatible with 10.1 it will be compatible with the newer versions such as your 10.3. Did you even try the Quantaray before you traded it? I would say that you should have tried it before you just went out a got probably a more expensive reader. We didn't even know which card reader this was and what you have now. As Terry said, if it's a USB card reader as most, if not all are (exception: firewire) it will not require any software. If it does, it will just ask you to put the CD in. Quantaray is a good brand because it offers certain things for lower prices but of course, at a lower quality than professional. I think Quantaray is a branch of Sigma, which is also pretty good. I'm sure the Sigma will be fine as well. Also, please note that most things that you buy will have a special number on them that you can call toll free that will give you technical, assistance. They would have been able to ask you questions and get direct answers from you and viceversa. For better assistence, please provide more information about what items you are talking about. Not just a Quantaray CF card reader that supports OS 10.1. I'm sure you could have gotten this stuff to work great even if you never used the software, but I'm 100% sure the software would have worked. You should have tried to load it.
