How To Shoot With The Sun At My Back

Just got a new Konica Minolta 7d DSLR and doing shots of different new buildings going up for historical reasons some of the photos are mostly very very dark and some are normal. I have a 28 - 100mm Minolta AF Lens that came with my camera with a Hoya Cir-Polarizing filter on the lens. ISO is set at 100 and tried 400 which I use most of the time on my 5xi and the pictures come out super. I have read my manual tring to get different ideas on what I am doing wrong. I have inclosed a few that I have recently taken.
