In-camera RESIZE image quality

Sony DSC717 has a nice feature called RESIZE - You can shoot an image in low resolution, and increase the resolution in camera using RESIZE.
Will the resized image produce the same print quality as the image orginally shot in high resolution?

  No.

The cammera never stored that data and has to make up new data to fill in-between the existing pixels. This is the same thing that would be done if you upsized a photo in PS or other photo editing software.
