Please critique my photos!! Hi, I am an Amature/Intermediate film photographer, and would love some feed back on my photos. The only opinions I have ever received have been from Family and a few friends, and they dont really count because they are biased!!!! So I would love to know what the pros and other aspiring photographers think!! It would be great to know also what you think I can work on to achieve better photos! Thanks so much, this will be of great help. PS. when you go to my gallery choose to look at the larger versions, they are easier to see! Collette

Welcome to BP, Colette! You have some really great photos in your gallery. The two that really stand out for me are "wings of contrast" and "bold beauty". Your portraits are somewhat soft but for some of them that is very appealing. I think you are doing well and just keep doing what you are :)

Collette, I think your strength is portrait work. Good eye for composition - you should focus on this. One thing, tigers are so beautiful, my eye wants to see them in full color. Keep learning and asking more questions.

Collette, Your photos are wonderful! They offer an emotional appeal to the senses, and that's what art is all about. Family and friends count for a lot. They are your immediate network, biased or not; they will lead you to other opportunities. Technical note: if you want to compete (read: subject yourself to the vagaries of judges with an unwritten agenda), get sharp. You can still have the best of both worlds - art with softness, winners with sharpness - with a minimal focal adjustment. Good luck to you!
