CompactFlash vs Microdrive card

Hello,
I have been thinking buying a Microdrive card for my Maxxum 7D since it's cheaper than the Compactflash card. But I'm not sure what's the difference between those two. I have been getting difference answers from friends, some say it's ok to use Microdrice card for my Maxxum 7d and some say noooo...you will distroy your camera...I'm so confuse now. Please help me with this question. Thank you so much.

I've never heard of microdrives doing anything to a camera. The only thing I've heard is they don't take being dropped very well.

Ditto what Gregory said. Microdrives also are not always as fast as CF cards. Microdrives also eat up your batteries faster than CF cards.
