Another focusing problem


when I foucs on the eyes (head shot)and they are standing at an angle ,only 1 eye is sharp. Does that mean both eyes have to be on the same focus plane or DOF has to be at f16 to get both sharp

  Yes. There can only be one plane of focus. Selecting smaller apertures will extend the range of apparent focus (ie. depth of field) in front and behind the plane of critical focus. Whether you need f/8, 11, 16,... will vary depending on the amount of depth of field needed, subject distance and lens focal length.
