Anyone wanna checkout my pics? Hi, I was wondering if anyone minded looking at my gallery? This is my first SLR camera (Canon Digital Rebel XT). I am new to digital photography and realize I have a lot to learn. I do plan on taking a few courses next month. I cant afford BP course right now but found some cheaper ones through the state college where I live. Any sugguestions appreciated. :) Thanks

I think your photos are pretty good. My favorite ones are the ones with the flowers and the horse. My sugestions are to just read through some of the Q&As, and discussions. Also just get out there and practice. Brendan

I like the un-named photo of the multiple flowers. Clear and sharp with good color. A couple of the others may have some opportunity for improvement. The first three are a little focus challenged. The background of the shot with the little girl is overexposed and not really atractive. The close-up of the boy's face is great - except for half is blocked by someone else's head. The skateboard shot is great. I know how difficult that shot can be, but you have it spot on. I guess my favorite two are the skateboarder and the third flower shot. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to critique :-)

I have included a couple of my recent shots in my gallery. Please feel free to give your opinions. The focus of the group shot was actually diminished a little when I resized the shot for uploading. Not sure what went wrong there.

Great Pics! I like the last one the best. Very sharp. I had to giggle at the title. I used to have some of the same piercings myself. :P

My favorite is the rose. The coloring is just a hair muted compared to the others, which I like, and I think you captured the texture very very well!

To Nick: I like the last one too! Just the image combined with the deadpan title got me chuckling. To Amy: I'm on a digital Rebel, as well (the first one, not the XT). Glad to be back shooting SLR after a long hiatus, but I feel like you do, like it's all new again.

Thanks Lee! I actually PShopped that one a bit. (Still learing about the editing process.) Its one of my favs too.

I think what also makes it nice is that it's a better "Rule of Thirds" photo than the others...the focal point is off-center and that lends a more dramatic element. I can see though what Nick mentioned: it's a hair soft. What light conditions did you have, and was it hand-held rather than tripod-held?

Very pretty flower shots. I'm betting you either didn't use a tripod and/or, if there is a macro setting on Dig XT, you didn't use that either. Beautiful colors but blurry, either from camera movement or not focused properly.

That photo was taken outside...partly suuny and it was also shaded by a tree. And yes I did use the macro setting but I did not use a tripod.(Plan on getting one very very soon.)
