Is Canon a step ahead? I,ve been looking at the Digital SLR's and it seems Canon is a bit ahead of Nikon in advancements. I've been a Nikon user for years but I'm considering switching to Canon for digital work. I like the Rebel better than the D70, and the Ds1 mark II? (I hope I got the model right.) This camera looks outstanding. Is Canon leading the way?

you bet and canon has way more of a lens selection (which helps the overall product). I have the Mark II and it makes film quality shots. Funny thing is yesterday I got some photos back from the lab and they looked like film, so I asked the tech what he did. He said that he has a program now that makes digital look like film. A friend of my from Japan shoots stock with canon . At first he was bummed because he had alot of Nikon lenses and thought what a waste to switch over to canon and start all over again, but now he is glad he did and now considers his D1x a toy (which once he get the MarkIId1s will give to his son). A wedding shooter friend of mine shoots with Nikon and makes great pictures, but she is bummed when she looks at the canon candy store.
