Photography Question

shooting groups

I have a cannon 20d a 580ex flash, and a bracket for that flash. I was wondering if anyone could give me a couple of tips on shooting groups-up to 40 people....is the 580 enough? one group will be outside and the other group will be on a high school stage...both up to 40 people...I've never shot this many people before...also, should I use a wide angle lens? I have a 18-55 cannon lens and a .5x wide angle converter. Any imput would be great...thanks in advance..

The 580EX should be enough flash to shoot these groups. It's the largest flash Canon makes.

The 18-55mm lens should be fine, also.

Put the .5x wide angle converter on eBay. It will degrade the quality of any lens you put it on.
