digital rebel questions Just got the digital rebel so haven't had much time to play around but it seems that when I download the pictures to my computer they are turning out a little darker then what the LCD screen shows. So obivously underexposing but my question is how do I know that I'am getting the right exposure if the screen does not show it correctly? Another question about this camera... Am I missing where the button is for the metering modes (evaluative, partial, center) Maybe I have an older version b/c I do not see these modes at all so does the camera automatically set the metering mode?

Your not missing a button. The camera sets the metering mode. On page 122 of your manual, there is a big chart that tells which functions are available in each of the shooting modes. It shows that the camera will use evaluative metering for all shooting modes except M, where it uses centerweighted average. If you are in the creative zone (P, Av, Tv, M, A-dep) and you use the Autoexposure lock button, the camera will then use partial metering. Many digital rebel users report that their images appear darker on the computer than they did on the LCD screen. It helps if you turn down the brightness of the LCD screen a bit. Compare an image on the LCD with the the same image on your computer monitor and adjust until you feel they match.

Yep, this is what I did, and it helped a lot, I just turned down the brightness of the screen by one step.

Do not use the LCD to check to see if you have proper exposure; use the histogram. If you don't know how to read a histogram, do an internet search. I only use the LCD to look at my composition, see if eyes are closed, etc and trust my histograms for exposure.
