Kari, I'm not an expert by any means, but I know what I like and your gallery is beautiful. You could probably give me a few pointers, in fact!

Dito!! Those are so nice. How did you do the one of the baby, Happy Easter, and the CMYK, and the Flower in Pieces?? Did you use software?
We want to know your secrets??!!

Daniel, Laura and Teresa, thanks a lot for positive comments! I really appreciate it. What I really was looking for was some ideas that could bring me further.

I especially need some advice on indoor photograpy and how to light it. Now I use either natural light or an external flashlight.

Teresa, I do use Photoshop for my photos. I feel I can do a lot with my photos in Photoshop, but would like to improve my skills in taking better photos.

Natural light is one of the best sources of light. However, it is not perfect. From the shadows on the clothing, it seems that Christened was shot by natural light coming from your left side. Nothing wrong with the shadows there but you do have too much shadow around the eyes. Try using a reflector board (like a piece of foam board, cheap but effective) to the right side (left side of baby). That should reflect some light back onto the face.

I could be wrong but it appears Fun-loving Boy seems to have been shot with a flash. You should get a mini softbox for your flash. There seems to be hotspots on the cheeks and forehead (usual places for a baby) which could be softened with a softbox.

All in all, good pictures.

I think your gallery is awesome. I do agree with Kerry on the reflector, puting some light back into his face, but besides that, you really have something to be proud of.
