Brigitte, enlarging "any size picture to an 8 x 10 without losing any resolution" is not possible. If the information isn't there in the original, it cannot be "lost." What you are looking for is an "interpolation" program that likely uses bilinear, bicubic or fractal algorithms to add the necessary pixels to make the photograph larger. The simplest method, "nearest neighbor," doesn't work well at all with photographs. The bilinear works much better. Bicubic is noticeably better than bilinear. The top end, most complex, and a modest incremental improvement over bilinear is fractal. Interpolation programs cannot add "real" or "true" information, but they can make the upsizing look much more natural. The best one of these interpolation programs that I know of is Genuine Fractals. -- John Lind

the program I lost had the words "magic eye" in the name somewhere.. a google turned up nothing helpful.. the greyhound pic had been larger but for some reason, I shrunk it to avatar size and now can't find the original.. it was probably lost in the crash.. I had mostly used the program to enlarge old film snapshots for memorials..
