What does AV mode stand for Does this only exist in flim based cameras? I use the Konica Minolta DiMage Z1 digital, is it on mine? Thanks for any help with this.

AV = Aperture priority mode. You choose the f-stop (aperture), and the camera will select the appropriate shutter speed. Michael H. Cothran www.mhcphoto.net

Tonya, Michael is correct; however, the letters AV stands for aperature value while TV stands for time value. These abbreviations are now applied to aperature priority and shutter speed priority. John

Tonya, on your particular camera, the Aperture priority mode (Av on many cameras) is selected by choosing "A" on the dial. The Shutter Priority Mode (Tv on many cameras) is selected by choosing "S" on the dial.

Gee, I'm glad I use a simple camera. The only modes it has are auto, manual and off. Simple things for simple minds.
