contest entry When trying to follow the "Enter Contest" ling and uploading a photo there is not option window for contest catagorie and it does not enter the photo, only places it in my gallerie. I have not entered a photo for a couple of days so I should be able to. What's up with this? I cannot find any other avenue to designate a photo to a contest catagorie from my gallerie either. Sure would like to enter another photo...

Same here....LOL I was able to load one into the contest yesterday, but now I cant add another pic. Just to my gallarie. It's been over 24 hours so I dont know why I cant enter.

I don'y get it. I have never had the problem. Sign in. You should go to your "Member'sCenter" screen where you have this menu: Your Photos When I choose either "Enter the Contest" or "Upload New Photos," I get a screen that allows entering the photo along with check boxes for category, discussion, etc. Keep in mind, if you have entered a photo into the contest, you cannot enter another until the next calendar day. Hope you are able to resolve this.

Hi Larry, In most cases, my answer would be: "It sounds like the database has already recognized an entry for you for the day. The database won't allow more than one entry per day. It will automatically omit the photo id field and also the category pulldown when it has already recognized has an image entry for the day." However, I just signed in to your member center, clicked on Enter Contest and did see the category pull down to enter the contest. What exact steps are you taking to enter the contest? Also, to enter the contest with an existing image (an image that you already have uploaded to your gallery), proceed to enter the contest as usual: Sign in to your member center>Your Photos tab>Enter Contest. To the right of the file field is a small box for entering the photo id# of an already uploaded image. You can enter the photo id # there. Keep in mind, (this is probably the most asked tech support question),when you enter an image in the contest using a photo id#, the image is placed in order of the photo id#, therefore the image is placed further back in the contest pages. I appreciate all the discussion and it seems that "loneliness" is rarely an issue on this site. I have been able to do entries with all the normal windows and options since I first posted this question. While the issue may have resolved itself for me I think there may well still be a bug in the system if so many people are having trouble posting to the contests after waiting the requisite time after their last post. All in all it was only one glitch in an otherwise great experience with this site. Thank you Heather for your pursuit of the problem. If we want to prevent future issues it may take a programmer to take a harder look at the timing sequence in the lockout responce. Good shooting all! Larry in Boulder

Keep in mind that the timezone of this site is the Pacific time... Where I am, I will not be able to upload a contest image until past 2:00a.m. As far as talks of a bug or bugs, if there are any, they are very minor ones and I feel they cause very minor inconveniences imo... For example, once I uploaded a mini-pic and that seems to have caused the system to count as the upload for the day and I was unable to upload an image for the contest for that day. I only waited for the next day to enter the image... In my experience, specifying "do not enter" as the category from the pull-down menu is the only time the system allows me to upload another image for the contest for that day...

Addendum: Thinking back, it could have been an image for "bio" section instead of a mini-pic I uploaded that caused the sytem to count as the upload for the day... Regardless, it was a very minor inconvenience...
