How to mark proofs I have a small photography business in Texas. I am having a hard time with >people buying my proofs and not placing an order. I feel that they are >copying my photographs. I am not marking the proofs as proofs in any way. >How do I go about doing this? The lab that I am using doesn't have the >ability to mark them as proofs. Is there something I can add off the >computer or is there a tool I can use to manually mark each photo as a >proof? Or do you have any suggestions on a lab in the Houston area that I >could use to will mark them as proof? > Thank you for your help on this matter. > Tonya

Tonya Get a rubber stamp made with your name and the copyright mark on it, stamp the back of the photos! Or to get them to buy the photos, let the people know that they get the proofs for free when an order (over a certain amount) has been placed!! I would still stamp the back of the prints!!! Hope this helps and good luck!! mlg

Check the software you are using for Watermark. Most programs allow you to do a watermark on the image. You can put Proof across the photo that will allow the person to have a good idea of what the photo looks like, yet at the same time not have a photo they want display. Good luck, jdg

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't checked yet, but I assume photoshop has somewhere to do a watermark. If you have any help on that, I would appreciate it. I am also looking into learning how to do a proof sheet. I am new to all this, so any help is appreciated. Thanks again, tp
