Photography Question

Marta Y. Beach

What is the best type of paint for studio walls

I am in the process of building a studio room just for the sole purpose of portrait photography. I just want some advise in what type of ambience is the best for the room and if I should use a semi gloss or flat paint in the walls and cellings or if this does not really matter.

Logic would indicate that flat paint would be best so you don't get any hot spots from your lights.

I have been wondering about this too. Thanks. Also, does anyone have any ideas as to what color would be best for the walls of a portrait photography studio. Does it matter?

Dosen't matter. Versatility is something you would want. One room only for the regular kind of portraits, white walls and a way to hang a background for any other color.
non textured white wall you can do a no detail white background.
But if you want to do it different, earth tones like burnt sienna, guldens mustard

also, if you want to get the best bang for your buck out of your lighting system, go with white. White walls and ceilings reflect a lot more of the light in the room than any other color would.
