Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro Just wondering if anyone has compared these two products and, if so, how do they stack up against each other.

Hi, Andrea, I use both programs, and I'm glad that I don't have to choose between them, because they both have features that I love. Some of PaintShop Pro's pros are ease of use for a beginner (I started creating web graphics with it back in '97 and taught myself, whereas I had training in Photoshop later on), the "enhance photo" effect for quick tweaks on photos, a free trial version to take it for a test drive. (their web address is www.jasc.com) Cost of the program is also much lower. On the Photoshop side, I find that I like resizing images better in this program, as well as the tools being easier for me to use. (perhaps that is because I had a guru teach me how to use it, I don't know...) I also like the lighting effects and lens flare features. For the money, Paint Shop is a great buy and easier for a beginner to use. Also, I am using Photoshop 5 (yes, I know, it's ancient, but it's what I know), and it is a major RAM eater that does tend to slow down the machine somewhat. I hope that this helps. :) Julie

Hi, Andrea, I'm in Goldsboro, NC. That chunk of coast is several hours from here, so I don't get to go as much as I would like. I was looking at your gallery, and I love the Solitary Tree! Julie PS I'm glad I was able to help! :)
