Anywhere! For any props for portrature, still-life, etc, it's wise to keep your eyes open,...and your imagination tuned in to anything you see which may be of some use photographically. Quite often, I'll peruse local Dollar Stores looking for a prop to include in a particular still-life or conceptual image and end up with several other ideas and inexpensive ("cheap") props as a bonus. As Robert mentioned, garage sales....and also flea markets can be a good source for in-expensive tables and such. (And in a pinch,...there's always WalMart.)

One of the largest and best known manufacturers of studio props is Denny Manufacturing Company (www.dennymfr.com I believe). Contact them for a free catalog. They have everything imaginable for the studio. Their catalogs are beautiful, and exciting to look through. The beginning of the catalog is their full line of backdrops, while all the props, etc. are towards the back. Michael H. Cothran www.mhcphoto.net
