Just follow all the directions and it should work fine and tell you everything you need. Are you getting one that can also help you calibrate your scanner image and your printed image? I've been checking out MonacoEXcolor myself.

This is the site I went to...

http://xritephoto.com/

Then you can click "Product Demo" on the right of the page. This explains a lot. There's also a free 44-page guide to color management at xritephoto.com/guide that you can have mailed to you. I had it sent to me and it has a lot of useful info. If I had the money, I would definitly buy the MonacoEZcolor/OPTIXXR Bundle. It costs nearly $500 from them but includes the software and the colorimeter(spyder). Also, I'm not sure myself, but there's also the Monaco OPTIX. It is rather confusing with all that they offer. You may want to give them a call and ask which woudl be the best for entire system calibration including scanner, printer and moniter software with colorimiter(spyder) for photography purposes. The number is...

914-347-3300

The guide that I mentioned got to me in pretty good time too, so they're on the ball. Hope this helps!
