Finding the right Macro lense

hi all,
Have a panasonic Dmc FZ20 and am really very interested in doing some serious macro photography.
Could some one tell me what are the lenses available and what kind of adaptor I would require to add on the macro lense to my camera.

thanks
Leo

Your camera does not have interchangeable lens, so you will not be able to use an actual macro lens. However, if your lens has threads around the front diameter, then you can add some close-up diopters. This is your ONLY option. You'll need to find out what size the threads are, measured in milimeters. Assuming you have these threads, take your camera to a "real" camera store. They can size it for you, and probably sell you a set of close-up diopters to get you on your way.
Plan B - if you don't have threads, you can try handholding the diopter up to your lens. A bit precarious for sure, but it will do the job if you get the hang of it.

PS - If you are serious about doing macro work, I would suggest ultimately investing in an SLR or DSLR with interchangeable lenses.
