Photoshop Elements 2.0 I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 about 6 weeks ago when I got my Digital Rebel. The problem I am having is understanding how to use the layers feature. Can someone give me some tips on this? The tutorials on the disc are not very clear.

Trying to learn Photoshop language is about as easy as learning Russian. Don't feel bad. I'd be happy to shed some light on Layers, but you need to ask some specific questions. It's too difficult and lengthy trying to talk about the entire feature in general - there are volumes of tutorials on the subject (and most of us are only familiar with the first paragraph!!). Seriously, if you can come up with a couple of specific inquiries, I'll be glad to answer as best I can, and you will also probably stand a better chance of getting some other helpful responses in addition. What I am really having problems with is just creating a new layer. I understand about the background layer, but if I want to lighten just a portion of the picture, for instance my wife's face came out to dark, and I want just her face for the layer how do I do that?
