Friendly Critiques?

I just purchased a Canon 350 XT Rebel last week and have had fun uploading new images to my computer. Will you please give me some honest feedback about my work in the gallery? Thanks!

Hi Cynthia! You are doing a good job. Here we go:

James & Rachel- Good soft lighting and pretty colorful background. The photo looks like it has an overall red/pink cast though, especially on their faces. I've uploaded another version where I went to Image > Adjust > Color Balance and shifted it slightly more to Blue and Yellow.

He's totally checking you out! - Cute photo :)

Colorful Swings - Lighting is kinda harsh, which is expected at 1pm. Midday is the hardest time to take photos. I read an article in which a well-known pro photographer said that he doesn't even take his camera with him if he's traveling at midday. Otherwise fun, though, and unique perspective. A bit crowded. I might've tried shooting the swings at a diagonal orientation.

Harley Green Eyes - Excellent clarity and digital work.

Hope that helps!
Nancy

By the way, I love your caption above your gallery... I totally agree!

Hope that helps!
