Getting great B&W from digital darkroom I have a Minolta Maxxum D7, I also use either adobe photoshop elements 2.0, photoshop 5.0 or microsofts digital image pro 7. I don't feel that my B&W photos "pop" like others I see. Any suggestions?

If you are serious about your b&w digital images, I would suggest buying a decent Epson printer (the 1280 is great for b&w), and supplying it with Lyson's Quad black inks. This would dedicate that printer to b&w only, and the Quad blacks will rival the finest quality b&w prints out of a tray. If you're not that serious, but just want to add a little "pop" to your current images, then try some simple calibrations to your current monitor/printer setup until you come up with something that, in your mind, "pops." I'd also turn off the color inks. Michael H. Cothran www.mhcphoto.net
