indoor lighting with alot of windows

How do I meter correctly inside a room when there is a lot of windows? I want the windows to be in the picture however if I shoot, the window is over exposed and the surrounding room is under exposed. How do I meter for this situation?

Meter for your subject. If you want to be able to also see out the window, find a way to add enough light so you're close to the light levels outside.
