Photography Question

quick advice for trip to Jamaica

I posed a question quite a few months ago about a trip to the Caribbean, but I cannot locate it anywhere!! I have a Canon SLR (newly purchased) with a 75-300mm zoom lens and another one, I think its up to 80mm. That is all that I have. I'm an amateuer to photography. Are there any helpful hints regarding how to take great pics, what speed film that I should take. I read some things regarding porta film??Do I really need that? It's getting to be crunch time, so my course will have to wait, but any helpful tips would be appreciated!!!

Hi Eva, I wouldn't use Kodak Portra film for this one. It's much to pricy for what you want to accomplish. I would recommend a 400 ISO Fuji Superia.

I don't mean to offend, but I disagree with Justin. Yes, Kodak Portra film (or Ultra Color) is a lot more expensive than Superia but it isn't nearly as expensive as a trip to Jamaica. If I was going, I would take the Ultra Color 400 (and some 100 speed). There is a lot of color in Lamaica and these films put out some great colors.
