old film canisters

Ok, my brother-in-law bought a bunch of photography stuff at an estate sale. The most interesting thing is a bunch of metal film canisters and some that look like small filter holders. They are brightly colored red with yellow twist off tops. I also have what appears to be one of the first Polaroid land cameras ever made! Ha! The thing is very heavy and bulky. The thing I'm most interested in is the film canisters. Can anyone tell me anything about them and if there is any value to them at all? Thanks, CJ

Greetings CJ. Sounds to me like they're probably film cans from Kodachrome film before they switched to the basic plastic. Aaaah, those were the days . Are they worth anything other than sentimental value? I honestly don't know, but someone may be interested in them, depending on how many you've got. These days, maybe someone can use them to store pixels in. Check over at e-bay.
Mark

In those days, I knew people who kept various, uh, herbal sedatives in these to keep them fresh. They are excellent film cans because of their compactness, very light weight, and rubber seal. I believe you could sell the entire lot on eBay. Sell them in groups of 5 or so, or all at once.
