That depends on your subject matter.

If your wildlife subjects don't move much...(like reptiles, insects,...some grazing animals), you can get by with a fine-grain slide film. This, along with a tripod, will yield excellent results in low light.
For years, I've photographed wildlife in all lighting conditions with KR64 and more recently with Fuji Provia 100.
(The Kodachrome was more limited than the Fuji in low-light though.)

For low light wildlife if you are using an autofocus (AF) SLR camera---its best you use an AF professional flash unit ( i.e. Nikon Speedlight SB-28,SB-800, SB-29S, Canon 550EX,480EG,etc.) to ensure the fill-in flashes needed to avoid distracting shadows. In case you want to use SLIDE films, Go for the Fuji Sensia RN-II (ISO 400 ),or Kodak's EPL-400, or EL-400. Make the necessary adjustments in the shutter speed and aperture combination so the exposure will turn out well ( or do some bracketing ). Make sure your batteries have sufficient power before going for the adventure!
