Photography Question

Daniel R. White

Cable shutter release

This is probably a dumb question and I think I know the answer(s) but why do so few DSLR's have the little screw-in socket for using a cable? I have a D100, and am considering an upgrade, but I use the cable alot and the D100's one of the few cameras with this feature. Any light you can shed will help, thanks in advance!

My camera has a cable shutter release. It's a 20D. I bought a special release for it. I thought the rebel, the 10D and lots of others have this capability. I'm sure Nikon D70 must too.
